Medication Management
Medication management is a collaborative and individualized process designed around your symptoms, treatment goals, medical history, and response to previous medications. At Synergy Family Psychiatric Services, the goal is not simply to prescribe medication, but to develop a thoughtful treatment plan that supports your overall well-being and day-to-day functioning.
Individualized Psychiatric Medication Management
Treatment begins with understanding you as an individual. Your current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatment experiences, medications, concerns, and personal goals are considered when developing your treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments focus on how you are responding to treatment, whether symptoms and daily functioning are improving, medication tolerability, and whether adjustments may be appropriate. Treatment decisions are discussed with you so that you can actively participate in your care.
Medication Management May Include
- Review of current and previous psychiatric medications
- Ongoing assessment of symptoms and daily functioning
- Monitoring medication effectiveness and tolerability
- Evaluation of potential side effects
- Medication adjustments when clinically appropriate
- Education about medications and treatment options
- Review of relevant medical history and other medications
- Coordination with other healthcare providers when appropriate
Conditions We Commonly Treat
Medication management may be part of treatment for ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, and other psychiatric concerns based on individual assessment and treatment needs.
Care That Is Personal, Not Rushed
Psychiatric treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Appointments provide time to discuss how you are doing, ask questions, address concerns, and make informed decisions about your treatment. Supportive therapy, education, and practical strategies may also be incorporated into visits when appropriate.
